Home style diversity, water front homes.

Like Lake Norman, Lake Wylie is one of the eleven lakes on the Catawba River, Wylie is the second oldest lake on the river chain. This too is part of the Duke Energy system, and water is moved between both of the lakes as needed.

You are bound to find a more reasonably priced family dream home here!  As Lake Norman hits maturity, the next prime real estate you'll find is along the borders of Wylie.  This large man-made lake has 300 breathtaking miles of shoreline that bleeds into South Carolina. Real Estate ranges from all different styles to suit your preferences.  It's not uncommon to find $50,000 properties, McMansions, and your luxury real estates ranging in the millions. If you're looking for old waterfront river cabins full of character, your best bet is Wylie.

Wylie has it all, and is being established into quite the community.  It has all right right vibes from a downtown feel to small villages full of local shoppes and boutiques. There are large acreage homesteads, equestrian farms, and prestigious gated communities.  Don't be surprised to find urban developments here as well.

What really makes the area so desirable is the alluring relaxed vibe the surrounding communities have.  Employment options and entertainment is growing at a rapid rate, but the open lands make the bustle feel tame and steady. This is an attractive destination for the empty-nester community and the young families looking for larger homes and a safe environment. Not to mention, it's still only a 20 minute, easy to access, car ride to Uptown Charlotte. Perfect for commuters.

  • What you'll love

This area is peaceful, it truly feels like an oasis and sets your mind to ease.   It's versatile location is only 20 minutes from Uptown and the airport.

  • Real estate market

This market is on the radar! As the city plans to build, expand, and create the next big subsidiary to the metropolitan area.  Steele Creek/Wylie is where the land and expansion is going. It's currently growing at a slow steady pace, but new construction is already booming with constant announcements of extra large development projects, public parks, and even a large marina.

  • Life style

If you're into larger reasonably priced homes, drawn to the water life, picnics, and putting your sunscreen and tennis shoes on to explore the nature along the NC & SC border while feeling close to Charlotte, this is your spot. Beat the curve before it becomes as busy as Norman.

  • Dining & entertainment

If water isn't your thing. You'll absolutely love the McDowell Park and Reserve.  Copperhead island too.  They both offer a large variety of activities including: beach volley ball, tennis, picnic areas, camping, and miles of nature trails. Grab your gear, grab a beer and enjoy quality time with the natural beauty of these parks.
